If any of you have kids like mine, your kids never want to go to sleep. For some reason they feel like they’ll miss something, or like there’s a party going on they weren’t invited to. Somehow they’ll miss the party of the year if they close their eyes and fall asleep.
Here’s a trick to get them to fall asleep on those days where they’re fighting sleep.
Here’s what’s needed:
Lavender Essential oil
My son is normally no problem to get him to go to sleep. My daughter on the other hand, will fight sleep until the wee hours of the morning. Sometimes I’ll let her little brother sleep on the little sofa in her room if we have nothing to get up early for the next morning. Of course those are the days where I hear cackling all night. Once it gets to a certain time, I’ll grab the lavender oil and rub it on the bottoms of their feet. Within 15 minutes, all I hear is silence.
Since I don’t have to use much, I only make 1 ounce at a time. I add 20 drops of Lavender Essential oil to a clean, dry 1 fl. Oz. bottle. I fill up the rest with whatever carrier oil I use. I normally choose olive oil. Make sure the cap is on tight and shake it once or twice. Then voila! All done.
I chose Olive oil because it not only helps soften the skin, but it’s also not as expensive to replace as the other oils I have in the house like Avocado or Emu oil. Especially since I’m only using it on the bottoms of their feet. However, you can use whichever carrier oil you prefer. It takes about 15 minutes for my kids to fall asleep.
